Our Story
The Endangered Species Theatre Project began in 2018 as a passionate initiative to enhance representation on stage, particularly for women over 40 and other historically excluded artists. The journey started with performances of forgotten plays, including works by Rachel Crothers and Georgia Douglas Johnson. In the summer of 2019, the project expanded with the Frederick Shakespeare Festival, showcasing strong female characters in Tennessee Williams' lesser-known short plays. This commitment to diverse storytelling continues to resonate within the community.
