Our Story

The story of Encore Musicals begins with an ending. In 2017, Back Alley Musicals, the predecessor of Encore, had to cease operations, leaving a void in the Owensboro community. A group of passionate former performers came together, determined to continue the legacy of musical theatre. Thus, Encore Musicals of Owensboro was born, signifying that the show wasn’t over. The inaugural one-night-only Broadway revue was a resounding success, filling the venue to standing room only. Over the past five years, Encore has produced 14 productions, captivating approximately 10,630 audience members with high-quality performances featuring local talent.
