Our Story
Founded in 1987 by Dr. Ilene Dode, EMPACT-SUICIDE PREVENTION CENTER was established to combat life-threatening behaviors through prevention, treatment, and emergency services. Originally named the Emergency Mobile Pediatric and Adolescent Crisis Team, EMPACT has evolved to include innovative programs such as 'Teens Talking to Teens' and the 'Survivors of Suicide' support program. The agency launched the first Suicide Prevention Hotline in January 1990, becoming a pioneer in behavioral health services, including in-home counseling.
