About Emily Griffith Foundation

The Emily Griffith Foundation carries on the legacy of Emily Griffith, a pioneer in adult education who founded the first public career and technical college in the United States in 1916. Her vision was clear: every individual, regardless of age, race, gender, or background, deserves access to education. Established in 1991, the Foundation arose from the need to support students after funding cuts from Denver Public Schools. Today, it provides essential charitable funding for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and programs at Emily Griffith Technical College.
