Our Story

Emergency Food Network began in 1982 as a collaborative effort among local organizations to address the urgent need for emergency food resources in Pierce County. Officially becoming an independent 501(c)(3) in 1991, EFN has since dedicated itself to alleviating hunger in the community.

Impact

In 2023, EFN distributed an astounding 14.5 million pounds of food, equating to millions of meals for those in need. With over 220,000 visits to food programs each month, the organization plays a crucial role in supporting food security in Pierce County.
