Embers International

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by visionary entrepreneurs Haejin Shim Fujimura, Nelli Kim, and Brianna Johnson, Embers International addresses the exploitation of individuals in red-light districts in India. The organization is dedicated to protecting, restoring, and empowering victims of injustice, focusing on breaking the cycle of intergenerational exploitation and preventing human trafficking.

Impact

Since the lockdown in 2020, Embers International has provided over 1.7 million meals to vulnerable populations, supported 399 legal aid cases, and empowered 116 children to access formal education for the first time. The organization also equips at-risk youth for higher education and offers trauma-informed counseling sessions to survivors and their children.
