Our Story
In 2011, a group of dedicated parents, inspired by a vision for a diverse and nurturing educational environment, founded Elm City Montessori School in New Haven. Opening its doors in August 2014, ECMS became the city’s first public Montessori school, serving children from PreK-3 through 8th grade.

ECMS is committed to ensuring that all New Haven students graduate high school equipped with essential 21st Century skills. The focus on early childhood education and active family engagement fosters transformative outcomes for children.
