About Monumental Women

Monumental Women is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization founded in 2014, dedicated to placing the first statue honoring women’s history in New York City’s Central Park. This initiative aims to break the bronze ceiling by increasing awareness and appreciation of Women’s History through a nationwide education campaign.

Impact of the Initiative

On August 26, 2020, Monumental Women unveiled the Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument, honoring Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. This historic achievement marks the first statue of real women in Central Park's 167-year history, raising awareness of women's contributions to history.

Why Donate?

Donations to Monumental Women support the creation of a full and fair historical record that includes the contributions of all women and people of color. Contributions help fund educational projects and initiatives that honor women's history and promote equality.
