Our Story
The Elbert Theatre opened its doors on February 23, 1940, as the most advanced movie theatre in Northeast Georgia. After a devastating fire in 1950, local volunteers rallied to rebuild the theatre, allowing it to continue serving the community. In 1989, the City of Elberton acquired the building, and following extensive renovations, it reopened in 2001 as a vibrant performing arts facility, hosting local theatrical performances and concerts.
