Our Story

El Pueblo was founded in 2006 by Rev. Sally Bevill as a faith-based initiative to support Latino migrants rebuilding Mississippi’s storm-ravaged coast. Officially incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 2008, El Pueblo became a stand-alone nonprofit in 2020, responding to the urgent need for low-cost immigration services following a historic ICE raid.

Impact

El Pueblo provides essential legal and support services to immigrants, facilitating family reunification, citizenship, and protection from violence. This work not only empowers individuals but also strengthens the local economy and enhances community safety.
