Our Story

CentroMed, originally known as El Centro del Barrio, was founded in 1971 to deliver culturally competent mental health services to the Mexican-American community in San Antonio. Transitioning to a nonprofit in 1973 allowed for expanded services, including primary care, dental care, and support for vulnerable populations.
