Our Story

The Edward C. Mazique Parent Child Center, Inc. was established in 1967 as the first Parent Child Center in Washington, D.C. Founded by Mrs. Ruth Rucker, the center has a rich history of pioneering early childhood education and support services, including being among the first to serve children with special needs. The organization focuses on empowering families and closing the achievement gap for disadvantaged children.
