Our Story

Founded in 1968, Edgewater Health emerged from a community taskforce addressing the urgent need for quality mental health care in Gary, Indiana. Officially incorporated as a not-for-profit in 1974, the organization has evolved significantly, expanding its services to include a full spectrum of mental health and primary care. With initiatives like the Ambassadors Program and the Rapid Access Center for psychiatric crises, Edgewater Health rebranded in 2017 to reflect its commitment to comprehensive care.
