Our Story

The Edgar H. and Meta A. Hoenecke Vulnerable Children’s Foundation Inc. was established in 1949 by Rev. Edgar Hoenecke and Rev. Arthur Walker, who founded a Lutheran mission in Zambia. This foundation was created to address the pressing needs of vulnerable children, particularly orphans affected by the AIDS epidemic in Africa. By partnering with the Lutheran Church of Central Africa, the foundation funds and operates schools in Zambia and Malawi, providing a nurturing Christian educational environment.
