The Eastern Trail was envisioned in the early 1990s by John Andrews and a dedicated group of community members. This multi-use greenway spans 22 off-road miles from South Portland to Kennebunk, providing a scenic route for outdoor enthusiasts. In 2022, the trail was honored with induction into the Rail-Trail Conservancy’s national Rail-Trail Hall of Fame, highlighting its significance in promoting sustainable transportation and recreation.
