Eastern Shore Land Conservancy
EIN: 52-1711989 · Easton, MD
Our Story
Founded in 1990, Eastern Shore Land Conservancy is the first and oldest land trust on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. A dedicated group of community members recognized the urgent need to protect the region's open land and agricultural heritage. As development encroached on farms, they began collaborating with landowners to establish conservation easements. Over the years, ESLC has evolved into a nationally recognized organization, successfully protecting over 66,000 acres across six counties.
Our Impact
With more than 66,000 acres safeguarded, ESLC enhances access to nature, preserves vital wildlife habitats, and promotes the rural heritage of the Eastern Shore. This conservation work not only protects the environment but also enriches the community.
