Our Story
The East Tuscaloosa Community Soup Bowl (ETCSB) is dedicated to combating food insecurity in the East Tuscaloosa area. Established in May 2005, ETCSB began with a humble mission, serving just 50 brown bag lunches in the parking lot of a local grocery store. Today, this vital organization operates out of Druid Hills United Methodist Church and serves over 1,000 hot meals each month, showcasing a remarkable growth in community support and outreach.
During the Covid pandemic, ETCSB adapted its services to continue meeting the needs of the community by providing bags of groceries and sack lunches, ensuring that no one goes hungry. The delicious and nutritious meals are prepared by dedicated volunteer teams, reflecting the spirit of community collaboration.
