EAST TENNESSEE REPEATER ASSOCIATION

We provide charitable support of emergency communications services in eastern Tennessee. Our first and current project is the replacement of a radio tower that collapsed during the high winds associated with the Wears Valley wildfires of 2022. The replacement tower handles radio traffic for 3 emergency medical services and two fire services. Additionally, 5 amateur radio systems, two amateur satellite receivers and two remote weather stations will share the tower. EMS and fire services will benefit all residents of Blount County (population over 135,000). Amateur radio payloads will support communications for licensed amateur radio operators in Blount, Knox, Loudon, and Anderson Counties (population over 750,000)
