Founded in 2009 by dedicated advocates Roger Chan, Kristin Mateer, and Joy Ricardo, East Bay Children's Law Offices (EBCLO) emerged from the closure of the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office dependency practice. This innovative, multi-disciplinary law office has since represented over 8,100 children in critical child dependency proceedings, ensuring their voices are heard in the legal system.

With a commitment to children's rights, EBCLO has also represented 86 children in juvenile delinquency cases and 520 in probate guardianship proceedings, making a significant impact on their lives.
