Our Story

Founded in 1973 by concerned citizens, East Area Volunteer Emergency Service Inc (EAVES) was established to address the urgent need for timely ambulance services in the community. Over the years, EAVES has evolved, adapting to the challenges of decreasing volunteerism and rising operational costs. Despite these hurdles, EAVES proudly maintains a volunteer board of directors and over 20 Basic-EMT volunteers, ensuring that emergency medical care remains accessible to the residents of East Syracuse and surrounding areas.

Impact

In 2020, EAVES responded to over 5,000 emergency calls, providing critical ambulance services to a population of approximately 19,184 residents.
