Our Story

Founded in April 2009, East Alabama Humane Society Inc began as a foster-based organization with outdoor kennels. After receiving a generous donation of a warehouse, extensive renovations were undertaken over three years to create a permanent shelter. Officially opening in May 2012, the shelter has become a safe haven for countless animals in need. With a commitment to providing the highest quality of care, the shelter operates solely on donations and the support of dedicated volunteers.

Our Impact

As a non-profit organization, East Alabama Humane Society Inc relies entirely on donations and adoptions to support the many pets that come through its doors.
