About EarthGen

Founded in 2011, EarthGen has been at the forefront of environmental education in Washington state. Originally launched as Washington Green Schools, the organization was created by a diverse group of environmental educators who recognized the need for a green school certification program. With support from public agencies and grant funding from the Washington State Department of Ecology, EarthGen has evolved to meet the needs of students, teachers, and school communities.
