Our Story

Founded in 1992, Earth Conservancy is dedicated to addressing the impacts of past anthracite coal mining in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. The organization focuses on reclaiming and restoring nearly 16,500 acres of former Blue Coal Corporation holdings, aiming to revitalize the Wyoming Valley both economically and environmentally.

Our Impact

Over the past 30 years, more than 2,000 acres of mine-scarred lands have been reclaimed, transforming them into spaces for constructive use. Efforts to mitigate abandoned mine drainage have also significantly improved local watersheds.
