Our Story
Founded in 2012 by Jim Gerencser and Cassandra Palo, Early Recognition Is Critical Inc (E.R.I.C.) emerged from personal battles with cancer. Jim's son, Eric, faced a brain tumor, while Cassandra's mother, Mary Lea, lost her fight against stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. These experiences ignited a passion for early cancer detection and education, leading to the establishment of E.R.I.C. to empower communities with knowledge about cancer prevention.
Impact
Since its inception, E.R.I.C. has educated over 200,000 school-aged children in the U.S. and expanded its reach internationally, focusing on cancer literacy and self-screening techniques in countries like Uganda, Colombia, and Venezuela.
