Our Story

E2D was founded in 2012 by a visionary 12-year-old girl, Franny Millen, who recognized the urgent need for digital equity among students. She posed two critical questions to her parents: How can all kids in our school do their homework and projects successfully if some of their families are too poor to own digital technology? What are we going to do about it? This sparked the creation of E2D, dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to the technology they need to succeed.

Impact

Since its inception, E2D has placed over 43,000 laptops into homes, positively impacting an estimated 144,000 individuals. The organization has effectively reduced the digital divide in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area from over 30% to less than 8%.

Why Donate?

Financial support is essential for E2D's operations, but the organization primarily seeks donations of used corporate laptops. Your contribution can help bridge the digital divide and enhance educational and economic opportunities for families in need.

Get Involved

Join the movement to bridge the digital divide! Donate your used laptops or make a financial contribution today. Together, we can empower families and transform lives through technology.
