Support For Families Of Incarcerated Individuals
Providing Lodging And Emotional Support

Our Story

In 1994, Eunice Chambless, a dedicated chaplain at the Robertson Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, encountered a mother in distress. This mother had nowhere to stay after visiting her husband in prison. Moved by her plight, Eunice arranged a safe place for the mother and her children. This pivotal moment inspired Eunice to rally support from local churches and community leaders, leading to the establishment of the Eunice Chambless Hospitality House in December 1998. Since then, it has been a sanctuary for families facing the challenges of incarceration.

Impact

Since its inception, the Eunice Chambless Hospitality House has provided essential lodging and food at little to no cost for families visiting incarcerated loved ones, addressing both their physical and emotional needs.
