Our Story

Established in 1792, the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library has evolved to meet the needs of the Madison community. Thanks to the generosity of Miss Mary Eliza Scranton, the library was officially founded in 1901 and has since expanded its collection to over 116,000 items, serving approximately 18,000 residents.
