Founded in 2017 by four dedicated members of the Astoria Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Dutch Kills CSA has grown from just 19 members to a thriving community of 140. The mission is to make CSA shares affordable for everyone, fostering a connection between local farms and the community. In 2019, Dutch Kills CSA became a nonprofit organization, allowing for greater fundraising efforts to support this goal.
Over the past four years, Dutch Kills CSA has successfully subsidized over 70 vegetable shares, totaling more than $17,500. Additionally, the organization has donated over $8,000 in fresh produce to the Astoria Food Pantry and local fridges, ensuring that healthy food reaches those in need.
