Our Story

The DuPage Railroad Safety Council (DRSC) was established in 1994, emerging from a Railroad Safety Task Force initiated by the DuPage County Board. This coalition of railroad professionals, government officials, law enforcement, engineers, educators, and concerned citizens is committed to improving safety at highway-railroad crossings and along railways. Through regular meetings and collaboration with civic leaders, the DRSC actively seeks to prevent fatalities and injuries related to railroad crossings.

Impact

Significant advancements in railroad safety have been achieved, including the promotion of the CREATE Project, which enhances safety at crossings in the Chicago area. The DRSC has also successfully advocated for increased fines for crossing violations and the implementation of photo enforcement at crossings.
