Empowering Girls Through Education

The Dunstan Wai Foundation was established in 2005 to honor the legacy of Dunstan Wai, a dedicated World Bank staff member from Kajo Keji County, South Sudan. This foundation is committed to empowering African girls by providing them with the financial and emotional support necessary to pursue education beyond primary school.

Impacting Lives

Over the past 17 years, the foundation has financed more than 1,400 secondary school scholarships, enabling 225 girls to graduate. In 2022 alone, 151 scholarships were awarded, including to 90 South Sudanese refugees and 61 Ugandan girls.
