The Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department was established in 1942 by a dedicated group of community members. Initially sponsored by the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, it became independent in 1947. Over the years, the department has expanded its services, now operating multiple fire engines and medical transport units to serve the Fairfax County community.
With over 80 members volunteering more than 20,000 hours annually, the department plays a crucial role in ensuring public safety in Fairfax County through premier fire, rescue, and emergency medical services.
