Our Story

The Du Nord Foundation was established in June 2020, emerging from the urgent need to address the racial inequities highlighted by the civil unrest following George Floyd's murder. Co-founders Chris and Shanelle Montana began by raising funds for affected businesses and operating a food shelf, but soon recognized the necessity for ongoing efforts to promote economic justice and community rebuilding.

Our Impact

Since its inception, the Du Nord Foundation has successfully raised over one million dollars from more than 12,000 contributors worldwide. Nearly half of these donations are small contributions under $25, showcasing the power of community support in tackling racial inequities and fostering economic justice.
