Our Story

Since 1980, the Drowning Accident Rescue Team (DART) has been the primary water rescue unit in the greater Sacramento region. As the only volunteer emergency dive team, DART is composed of dedicated public safety divers, swift water rescue technicians, and an incredible support crew. On call 24/7, this all-volunteer organization responds to emergencies involving boating accidents, floods, and drownings. Beyond rescue operations, DART actively works to reduce environmental pollution by recovering submerged vehicles and other hazardous materials.

Impact

DART has consistently provided vital services across Northern California, focusing primarily on the seven counties surrounding Sacramento. The organization does not charge victims’ families or agencies for rescue operations, ensuring that help is always available when needed.
