Our Story

Dr. Shalon’s Maternal Action Project was founded in memory of Dr. Shalon Irving, who tragically passed away due to complications after childbirth. This organization is dedicated to addressing the Black maternal health crisis by removing barriers to equitable care and amplifying the voices of Black birthing individuals.

Our Impact

Focused on reducing maternal mortality rates among Black women, the organization advocates for systemic changes in healthcare while providing essential support to those affected by maternal loss. Empowering Black women and fostering a supportive community are at the heart of these initiatives.
