The Dr. Goodburn’s Foundation was established to address the urgent healthcare needs of the abandoned people of Vieques, Puerto Rico. For decades, these communities have been overlooked, suffering from a lack of basic medical care and resources. Following the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017, the local health clinic was destroyed, leaving residents with a makeshift emergency room that is ill-equipped to handle serious medical situations. Imagine being pregnant and needing to travel two hours by ferry to reach a hospital, or having to endure a long journey for chemotherapy treatments. This is the reality for many families in Vieques.

Our Mission

Dr. Goodburn’s Foundation is dedicated to providing the families of Vieques with essential medical supplies, equipment, and ultimately, a fully functioning medical facility. The goal is to ensure that no more lives are lost due to inadequate healthcare resources. By raising awareness and funds, the foundation aims to create a healthier future for the community.
