Founded in the mid-90s by dedicated families seeking support for children with Down syndrome, the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita (DSSW) has grown into a vital resource for the community. Initially formed to foster social connections and provide essential support, DSSW was officially incorporated in April 2006. Under the leadership of Executive Director Natalie Rolfe, the organization has expanded its reach and services, now supporting over 370 families across Wichita and surrounding areas.

DSSW engages more than 275 volunteers each year, offering programs that enhance the lives of individuals with Down syndrome from infancy through adulthood. The organization hosts regular Learning Series, Development and Wellness programming, and various community engagement activities.
