About the Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound
Founded in 1988 by a dedicated group of parents, the Down Syndrome Community of Puget Sound (DSC) has been a beacon of support and advocacy for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Over the years, DSC has evolved from informal gatherings into a recognized nonprofit organization, officially becoming a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2003. With a mission to promote inclusion and empowerment, DSC has expanded its services significantly, including the opening of a new Community Campus in 2022, which serves as a hub for educational programming, therapies, and social events.
Impact of Your Support
DSC covers 90% of the cost of all services provided, ensuring that no one is turned away due to financial constraints. This commitment to accessibility allows families to receive the support they need without the burden of cost.
