In 1994, a group of dedicated parents came together to support one another while raising children with Down syndrome. This grassroots effort blossomed into the Down Syndrome Association of South Texas (DSASTX), officially established as a nonprofit organization in 2003. The mission is to provide lifelong services and support to individuals with Down syndrome and their families, fostering inclusion and optimizing well-being in South Texas.
DSASTX serves over 1,275 families, creating a nurturing community that promotes growth, support, and lifelong friendships.
