Our Story

In 2008, Laurie Higgins-Kerley faced a life-altering challenge when her husband was diagnosed with cancer. After his passing, she found solace in the company of horses at their ranch, which inspired her to establish Dove Creek Equine Rescue in 2012. This organization is dedicated to reducing the unwanted horse population by rescuing, rehabilitating, retraining, and rehoming horses in need.

Impact

Dove Creek Equine Rescue has successfully placed over 85% of the horses received into loving, permanent homes, significantly reducing the number of unwanted horses in the community.
