Douglas County Search and Rescue

Our Story

Founded in September 1998, the Douglas County Search and Rescue Team Inc. (DCSAR) has been dedicated to saving lives and promoting wilderness safety. With initial support from El Paso County Search and Rescue, the team underwent rigorous training and became operational by December of that year. Since its first mission in February 1999, DCSAR has grown into a certified Mountain Rescue Association team, averaging over 130 missions annually across Douglas County and the Greater Denver area.

DCSAR enhances community safety by responding to emergencies and providing wilderness education. The team operates without charge, ensuring that help is always available when needed.
