Our Story

Double Dog Rescue (DDR) was founded by sisters Chey Ottoson and Laurie Ottoson Perotti in December 2006. After rescuing their own dogs from the South, they were inspired to save even more. Starting with just eight volunteers, DDR has grown to a dedicated network of over 150 volunteers, working tirelessly to combat the overpopulation of dogs in the South, where many shelters still resort to inhumane euthanasia methods.

Over the past decade, Double Dog Rescue has successfully placed thousands of dogs into loving forever homes, ensuring they receive the highest level of veterinary care.
