DOROT was founded in 1976 by recent graduates of Columbia University’s social work program to address the needs of senior neighbors who were hungry for both food and social connection. Over the years, DOROT has become a leader in aging services and volunteerism, serving over 4,000 older adults annually and engaging more than 6,000 volunteers.
