Our Story

On New Year's Day 2007, Founders Jim and Denise DeLong were inspired by a New York Times article highlighting the possibility of building a school in Cambodia for just $20,000. This sparked a movement at Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose, California, where 57 enthusiastic students organized a silent auction and donation campaign, successfully raising the necessary funds. They proudly named the school Doris Dillon School, establishing a sister school relationship with their Cambodian counterpart.

Impact

Today, the Doris Dillon School is a beacon of hope for girls in Cambodia. With the support of scholarships, several graduates are now attending the Leadership Academy, a prestigious college prep boarding school in Phnom Penh. This institution is renowned for its exceptional curriculum and character development program, helping students gain acceptance to the top universities in the nation.
