Our Story
On New Year's Day 2007, Founders Jim and Denise DeLong were inspired by a New York Times article highlighting the possibility of building a school in Cambodia for just $20,000. This sparked a movement at Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose, California, where 57 enthusiastic students organized a silent auction and donation campaign, successfully raising the necessary funds. They proudly named the school Doris Dillon School, establishing a sister school relationship with their Cambodian counterpart.
