In 2010, Sherry Williams-Jenkins initiated a community discussion on homelessness, leading to the establishment of Doors of Hope Transition Ministries in 2011. This organization is dedicated to guiding homeless and at-risk families in Lafayette County, Mississippi, towards self-reliance through a holistic approach that includes life-skills training and supportive housing.

Since its inception, Doors of Hope has provided services to 2,983 homeless or at-risk individuals, making a significant difference in the community.
