EIN: 62-1303874 · Murfreesboro, TN
Our Story
The Domestic Violence Program of Rutherford County was established in 1986, starting with a small office and limited services funded by VOCA. Over the years, it has grown significantly, expanding to include safe houses and counseling services. In 2003, the program built the Bernard House, a confidential emergency shelter. In 2007, it merged with Sexual Assault Services, becoming the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center. Today, the center offers a comprehensive range of services, including 24/7 crisis support, emergency shelter, sexual assault advocacy, counseling, and legal advocacy, all free of charge to victims.

The Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Center plays a crucial role in providing healing and protective services to victims, ensuring their safety and enhancing their social emotional wellbeing.
