Our Story
Founded in 1999 by Mitzi Vorachek, Domestic and Sexual Violence Services of Carbon County (DSVS) emerged from a critical need in the Red Lodge community. With over 25 years of experience in domestic violence prevention and intervention, Mitzi established a foundation that has grown to include a 24-hour helpline, direct services, transitional support, and educational programs. DSVS operates with a dedicated team and relies on volunteers and community support to provide free and confidential services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Impact
Since its inception, DSVS has assisted hundreds of survivors through direct services, therapy, and temporary housing support. The organization’s 24-hour helpline and educational initiatives in schools aim to prevent violence before it starts, fostering a safer community.
