Our Story

The Dolphin Scholarship Foundation was established in 1960, with the first scholarship awarded to John L. Haines, Jr. in June 1961. Fundraising efforts began with submarine officers’ wives’ organizations across the United States, and today, the foundation continues to thrive thanks to the unwavering support from submarine spouse organizations, individuals, and corporations. Through various fundraising initiatives, including the Annual Cartoon Calendar and Golf Tournaments, the foundation raises essential funds to support scholarships for deserving students.

Impact

Currently, the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation sponsors 113 students, providing annual scholarships ranging from $2,600 to $4,000. Each recipient can receive up to $16,000 for their undergraduate studies. Over the years, the foundation has awarded more than $14,000,000 to over 1,500 students attending universities across the United States, making a significant impact on their educational journeys.
