Dolly Parton launched the Imagination Library in 1995 to provide free books to children from birth until their fifth birthday. The local affiliate, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Grand Traverse Region, was established in 2016 to promote early literacy in the Grand Traverse Region, reaching over 2,900 children.
