Our Story

The inspiration for Dogs2DogTags (D2DT) emerged from Torre Willadsen's experiences as a civilian contractor with military dogs in 2012. While working alongside the 7th Marines, Torre witnessed the profound bond between service members and their canine companions. When dog handler Chris Van Etten was injured, Torre's efforts to keep Chris and his dog, Harley, together highlighted the critical role of emotional support dogs in recovery. This pivotal moment ignited Torre's passion to extend that support to veterans facing mental health challenges.

Our Impact

D2DT is dedicated to rescuing, training, and placing dogs with veterans diagnosed with post-combat stress and anxiety. By providing these trained dogs at no cost, D2DT helps veterans navigate their unique challenges and enhances their quality of life.
