Our Story

Diversity in Health Training Institute was established in 2011 by Alameda County Supervisor Alice Lai-Bitker to address the critical shortage of healthcare workers in East Bay, Northern California. Initially a pilot program for international nurses, DHTI has since transformed the lives of over 1500 immigrants, refugees, and asylees from more than 68 countries.

Impact

With a remarkable 90% job placement rate for nursing program graduates, DHTI is dedicated to improving health outcomes and increasing access to healthcare services for underserved immigrant populations.
